We will assert our leadership on these issues and will dedicate resources to engage in legislative and regulatory settings as well as influencing the development and creation of programs and pilots that can further policy priorities.

2022-2024 Collaboration Plan

The Alliance originally published a “Call to Action” with our top priorities in 2019; its implementation was quickly put on hold in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout the pandemic, the Alliance continued to meet and utilize our resources and relationships to tactically support schools in their management of the pandemic. During the summer of 2022, the Alliance revisited our strategic priorities and determined our purpose for the next 2-3 years, as presented in this Collaboration Plan.

We are excited to present our Alliance Call to Action

Its intent is to define school health services, elevate the importance of these services, outline opportunities for health and education to work together to meet the healthcare needs of every student, and identify actions we can take right now to improve the health of all Colorado youth.

Funding to ensure every student is learning and healthy

We will support efforts that seek to align fragmented funding streams at the local, state and national level to support the student. We will support efforts that maintain and increase funding for innovative efforts that improve student health.

Access to integrated care

We will support policies and strategies that address the mental, oral and physical health of children through coordinated services. We will support policies that create more connections between schools and health care providers.  We support increased screening and referrals for primary, mental and oral health care.

Data Availability

We will support efforts to develop a common, comprehensive, approach to sharing data across systems to inform planning, document progress, and ultimately improve the health, development, learning, and success of children and their school communities.
